G&M Welcomes New Labor & Employment Attorney Alexis M. Thomas

Posted by  Michael Crotty

Chicago, IL, July 17, 2019. Boutique law firm Goldstein & McClintock LLLP announced the expansion of its Washington D.C. office, as well as its Labor & Employment Practice Group, with the addition of Alexis M. Thomas, a talented and experienced labor & employment attorney.

Ms. Thomas, who is admitted in Maryland and the District of Columbia, regularly advises clients on labor and employment matters including statutory compliance, antidiscrimination practices, employment policies, potential employee misclassification issues, Human Resources procedures, and best practices for avoiding litigation. She also has extensive experience representing clients in core labor matters, including successfully resolving traditional labor disputes and arbitrations, as well as effectively negotiating collective bargaining agreements related to the National Labor Relations Act.

Prior to joining Goldstein & McClintock LLLP, Ms. Thomas primarily practiced in the Labor and Employment group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a large international law firm. She will be working closely with Robert Clayton, the senior partner in G&M’s Washington D.C. office, to advise G&M’s growing stable of labor & employment clients.

Since graduating from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004, Ms. Thomas has developed a sterling reputation not only as a thoughtful and effective business adviser and advocate, but also as a person and member of the community. Among other things, she founded and continues to run a community-based business, The Alexis Perspective (T.A.P.), which utilizes dance, movement, and self-expression as tools for empowerment and motivation for people of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. She plans to continue her community involvement at G&M, and her efforts fit squarely with G&M’s policy of maintaining a diverse workforce, and one that is engaged in and supportive of the communities the firm serves.

Ms. Thomas will be a fantastic addition to the firm. “We are very happy to welcome Alexis to G&M and look forward to working with her to grow her practice” said the firm’s Chairman, Harley J. Goldstein.  Mr. McClintock, the firm’s Managing Partner, noted that Ms. Thomas is not only “a great person and attorney, but someone who will be instrumental in helping to expand G&M’s Washington D.C. presence and the firm’s labor & employment practice generally.”
