  • Summary

    Chris S. Mehring is an attorney in the Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit offices of Goldstein & McClintock. Mr. Mehring has practiced for over 27 years, in the areas of real estate, corporate and finance law, focusing on commercial real estate, traditional real estate and asset-based lending transactions and general corporate counsel.  In addition, Mr. Mehring assists the firm’s attorneys on the transactional aspects (asset dispositions and DIP financing) of its bankruptcy matters.

    Mr. Mehring’s clients include several regional and local banking institutions in documenting, negotiating, and closing loan transactions. These loans include term loans, construction loans, account receivables loans, syndicated multi-agented loans, NMTC loans and accompanying loan modifications to those financing arrangements. In his representation of these banking clients, he also represents lenders in their modification and deferral agreements, forbearance agreements and workout situations on these loans. 

    Mr. Mehring represents for profit and not for profit clients in their complex real estate development projects in all various matters. Such projects also may entail obtaining tax exempt financing for such projects (NMTC, TIFs and Grants) on its real estate development projects.  In addition, Mr. Mehring has previously rendered several non-consolidation opinions requested by lenders for borrowers on sophisticated tax-exempt financing transactions.  Mr. Mehring also has extensive experience working with various Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) and 504 financing programs.

    Finally, Mr. Mehring performs outside general counsel tasks for the firm’s corporate clients. This work includes contractual negotiations with sellers and buyers, agents and third-party vendors, sophisticated real estate work, financing arrangements with its lenders, and employment matters. Currently, Mr. Mehring is representing a client in its stock equity raise of close to ten million dollars for a company that has gone from a startup to a nationwide manufacturer and distributor of its beverage product.

    Prior to joining Goldstein & McClintock, Mr. Mehring worked for Husch Blackwell and Mallery S.C. (f/k/a Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Additionally, Mr. Mehring was an associate at the Chicago law firms of Katten Muchin Rosenman and Goldberg Kohn.
