    Donald B. Levine has extensive experience and significant expertise in the areas of corporate and business transactions, real estate and financing transactions, construction related disputes, employment law, RICO, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. During his career, he has earned the trust and respect of his many clients and fellow attorneys because of his continued professionalism and integrity. Mr. Levine has counseled many small and mid-sized businesses and a wide variety of successful and accomplished individuals, assisting them as their legal needs require.

    As an attorney engaged in private practice in Chicago for many years, Mr. Levine has represented individual and corporate clients at the federal and state level in litigation (both civil and administrative), arbitration, and mediation proceedings. He has handled a wide range of commercial transactions, including the sale and acquisition of businesses and real property and in financial transactions on behalf of both borrowers and lenders and the structuring and negotiating of the relevant documents for these transactions. He has represented clients in sophisticated commercial and residential real estate transactions, including matters related to financing and construction, on behalf of buyers, sellers and developers. In addition, Mr. Levine represents clients in transportation (primarily trucking) and logistics matters involving regulatory licensing and resolution of commercial disputes.

    In his employment practice, Mr. Levine has structured, negotiated, and documented employment relationships for both employers and employees, including restrictive covenants and employee handbooks and manuals. He has implemented employment and human resource policies and programs, including the creation of employee handbooks for clients and the development and implementation of training seminars for employer clients, on such topics as avoidance of harassment claims and guidelines for managers in the investigation and resolution of discrimination claims. Mr. Levine has also defended numerous business clients in federal court and before administrative agencies at the federal, state and municipal level in litigation matters brought against them alleging employment discrimination.

    Mr. Levine represents design and medical professionals in connection with engagement and/or business relationships. He has provided counsel to members of the clergy, both individually and in group sessions, on legal issues and their interaction with religious matters. On a pro bono basis, he has acted as a neutral on a confidential basis in a number of disputes involving religious institutions and their respective staff members and/or congregants and he provides guidance and counsel on a pro bono basis to certain charitable and religious organizations.

    Over the years, Mr. Levine has presented numerous seminars to bar associations, trade organizations, community groups, and client organizations in areas including: Drafting Arbitration Clauses; Issues in Ownership and Management Succession; Benefits and Pitfalls of Employee Handbooks; Privileged Communications, HIPAA, and the Clergy; Success Strategies for Owners of Privately Held Businesses; Sexual Harassment in the Workplace; and Business Owners and the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act.

    Mr. Levine has been an active member on the Board of Trustees of a large conservative synagogue in Northbrook, Illinois, for over 25 years, where he served a term as its President, and today remaining as its legal counsel. He has also recently completed three terms as President of a large condominium association where he resides in Chicago, Illinois, and remains an active member of its Board of Directors.

    Mr. Levine is a certified mediator through studies at Northwestern University and has since been listed as a certified mediator with the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois and with ADR Systems. He is also a member of the Illinois Chapter of the Association of Attorney Mediators.
